Very Rev. Monsignor Canon Gerard Robinson V.G. M.B.A., M.Th., M.A.Lit. 

Monsignor Gerard Robinson is a native of Middlesbrough, who left the town to pursue a career in teaching, eventually becoming a lecturer in Business and Management in Cambridge. He studied for the priesthood at the Beda College in Rome and has Masters degrees in Business Administration, Theology and Liturgy. He is Vicar General for the Diocese of Middlesbrough as well as Diocesan Master of Ceremonies, chair of the Bishop’s Council for Liturgy, and currently Dean of Saint Mary’s Cathedral.

Associate Pastor

Rt Rev. Monsignor Canon Gerard Dasey V.G.

Mgr Dasey was appointed as associate pastor commencing January 2015. Mgr Gerry comes with a wealth of pastoral experience and is now a familiar face around the local area.

Assistant Priest

Father Richard Marsden

Father Richard was ordained a priest for the Diocese of Middlesbrough at the Cathedral in July 2018. He was born and brought up in Hull. Fr Richard completed a Journalism Studies degree at the University of Sheffield and worked as a newspaper reporter in Northamptonshire before applying for the priesthood. He trained at the Royal English College, Valladolid, and at the Venerable English College, Rome, where he specialised in moral theology.
